All-round Hafeez downs New Zealand

Pakistan's batting line-up is their weak link this tournament but its top order dominated New Zealand's bowling under sunny skies in Pallekele

Again, we're skipping off to the second game of the day so head over to live coverage of India v England from Colombo, dead game this, but always something on the line between those two countries. But from George and myself, goodbye for now...

New Zealand are guaranteed a place in the next round by getting as close as they did. Ross Taylor threatened something miraculous but it is safe to say that given a few more balls he could have won that match, why did he bat so low? But in the end, Pakistan had too many on the board after Nasir Jamshed and Mohammad Hafeez played very well, Hafeez playing his part with the ball too.

Pakistan made it closer than that seemed it would be in the middle overs but eventually close out the 13 run win and just need to avoid a big defeat against Bangladesh to go through.

Saeed Ajmal to NL McCullum, OUT, slow ball, long hop outside leg, fired into the leg side, has this found the stands? Nope only finds deep square leg, it was a good ball to hit but he simply didn't catch it properly, put it straight down the fielder's throat

NL McCullum c Shoaib Malik b Saeed Ajmal 5 (13m 4b 1x4 0x6) SR: 125.00

Saeed Ajmal to NL McCullum, FOUR runs, slapped from outside off, good hit that past long off

So only three maximum's will do now, can McCullum provide them...
