and that will be that. Five wins from five for Trinbago Knight Riders. In the slot from Paul, and Seifert nails this straight back towards his head. It flies through his hands, and races away for four to loud cheers from the TKR dugout
Amazon vs Trinbago, 16th Match at Port of Spain, CPL, Aug 27 2020 - Ball by Ball Commentary
Trinbago won by 7 wickets (with 10 balls remaining)
9.05pm: That'll be it from us this evening. Thanks for joining Ranjith, Peter and myself throughout. We'll be back when the tournament returns on Saturday after a day off tomorrow. Goodnight!
"We know how much support we've been getting," says Chris Green. "It's a tough surface. Everyone knows that. Spin is tough to play against. It was a pity we lost early wickets and then that run-out really cost us after we had some momentum with Taylor and Hetmyer. I loved the character our guys showed to get us to a respectable total. We felt match-up wise with the left-handers in the TKR line-up, left-arm orthodox wouldn't have gone as well as Romario Shepherd."
"Winning the toss and getting early wickets - we were able to hit the first punch," says Kieron Pollard "I thought the guys were fantastic right through. Very pleasing [to see Pierre do well against lefties]. Pierre didn't play the first game against Guyana for that same reason [i.e. due to match-ups]. That will do his confidence a world of good knowing he can bowl to left-handers and get them out. T20 cricket is about momentum. Sometimes in life you take it as it comes, so we'll continue to turn up every time to win cricket matches. That's what is driving us in that dressing room."
Khary Pierre is player of the match for his 3 for 18: "I'd like to thank Almighty God. It was a good all-round team performance and I'm happy for the win. I was watching the games before and the spinners were getting some purchase. It was an easy gameplan, just keeping things disciplined. It's a family. Everyone looks out for each other. I'm happy that I'm part of this team. Guyana are a really good team, with a lot of upcoming T20 stars. We wanted to keep it simple."
No Narine, no problem for TKR. He's missed the last two games through illness, while Ali Khan pulled up after his first over today, and yet their winning streak rolls on - even if they lose all five from here, they're pretty much through to the semi-finals already. Guyana's batting has let them down throughout the tournament this year, and they desperately need to find some form before long, with two wins from six games so far.
in the slot on off stump, textbook straight drive over mid-off's head for a two-bounce four
One hit away for TKR.
slips out, full toss on fifth stump, Seifert heaves it legside but with no timing, and it's straight to deep midwicket
flat legspinner, cut out to Rutherford at deep cover and they get back for a couple
Into single figures now
legbreak this time, flat on a length and heaved towards midwicket
googly, bamboozles Bravo who plays and misses
full outside off, Seifert gets across to sweep out to the boundary-rider
that just about seals it! Two sixes in two balls for TKR. Tossed up wide of the off stump by Tahir, and Seifert nails this over cow corner for a maximum. Clears the rope with some ease
Got to be Tahir time, I reckon? Yep, here he comes
Three overs left, one each for Naveen, Paul and Tahir. Just 17 required for TKR to extend their 100% record
full toss outside off, timed over extra cover for six! That eases any pressure on TKR. Not a great ball, another full toss from Naveen which gets whacked into the stands. Pure timing from DMB.
Naveen pulls out as he reaches the crease. Let's try that one again.
slower ball on a length outside off, clothed down to long-off in the air where Green fields on the bounce
offcutter on a length, tickled to the man at 45 degrees in the circle and they scramble through for a single
length on fourth stump, heaved out to deep backward square for one more
slower bouncer again, down at 63mph/102kph and Seifert again can't lay a bat on it as it loops up
full toss, unreal effort from Hetmyer at wide long-on to save six! That is absolutely quality work, leaping high above his head at full stretch to push it back into play before flying over the rope himself. Deep midwicket, Green, wasn't quite close enough to snaffle the relay opportunity. Only one run off it, Naveen escapes!
It's Naveen for the 17th, round the wicket
What does Green do with Tahir's last over? Does he hold him back hoping to take it even deeper, or attack now?
nails the yorker from round the wicket, wide on the crease, but Bravo squeezes it out behind square on the off side and will keep the strike
offcutter, low full toss on leg stump which is tickled down to fine leg on the fence
Seifert looking out of sorts here, struggling to time the ball on a tricky surface
yorker outside off, Seifert swings and misses
in the slot outside off, slapped through the covers. Half-stopped by Rossco on the edge of the ring, but they get back for the second
hilariously slow bumper, banged in at 64mph/103kph. Seifert waits an eternity for it to arrive but can't time it, swatting at thin air
full outside leg stump, and he'll have to bowl that one again
Over the wicket to the right-hander
