6.50 PM A wonderful game of cricket, which despite it's slow nature was very competitive courtesy hits and misses from both teams. Tridents may have gotten better of Tallawahs today, but the two teams face off once again tomorrow. Join us for that match, and every other CPL match this season, only on ESPNcricinfo. We hope you enjoyed our coverage of the double-header in sunny Florida. Here's Peter Della Pena's match report, if you missed the live action. Till then, from Akshay and Sreshth, it's bye bye.

6.47 PM Winning captain Pollard says: "some people were surprised at us choosing to bat, a scrappy effort but good to finish with a W. We knew it would be slow and we knew that the chasing team would always have the pressure. We dropped some catches, but overall a good day. We need to play Tallawahs tomorrow again, so not giving out much (smirk).

The losing captain Sangakkara says: "Too many dot balls and too much reserve-ness in our batting hurt us. Simmons batted well, our bowlers bowled well but poor fielding and bad bowling in the last two overs hurt us. He was batting so well (on Simmons), unfortunate the way he got out. We need to ensure we play less dot balls and rotate the strike."

6.42 PM For three-fourths of the game, one would think that Jamaica Tallawahs were in control today. But they lost the plot at crucial moments, first with the ball during their final three overs and then they gave up a supreme start with the bat, with some mindless running and poor shot selection. Sami conceded 18 during Tridents' last over and some lazy running saw a set Lendl Simmons stranded. Those two moments shifted the momentum towards Tridents and they did not let go, despite some poor fielding and unforgivable no balls. The result may show that it was a 12-run win, but this match was closer than that scorecard suggests. Hang around to hear from the captains.

6.40 PM The Man of the Match is AJ Hosein for his allround effort. He says, "We told each other (while batting) that we should patiently take our ones and twos and take it to the end. The pitch was hard to bat on, some balls weren't coming. It's always better to take singles than play dots. You have to mix up your pace (on his bowling) and your angles with the ball."

Rampaul to Imad Wasim, 2 runs

good length outside off stump, the batsman puts one leg up and works the ball to the sweeper fielder on the leg side. Barbados Tridents win by 12 runs. A subtle fist pump from captain Pollard. The teams shake their hands. Hugs all around in the Tridents camp.

1
Rampaul to Santokie, 1 run

good length on middle stump, mistimed pull goes to mid wicket next to the square leg umpire

19.4

Rampaul to Santokie, SIX runs

smacks that! too little, too late now, but he punishes that slower good-length ball. Same delivery at the same line like the first two balls of the over. This time he connects with the pull that flies over deep mid wicket

19.3
2
Rampaul to Santokie, 2 runs

good length outside off stump, pulled in front of square on the leg side, the ball goes to cow corner, where it's retrieved by the long on fielder who had to run a fair distance to his left

19.2
Rampaul to Santokie, no run

good length on middle stump and he misses another slog attempt. The keeper collects

19.1
Rampaul to Santokie, no run

good length outside off stump, that's an off cutter, a slower one that too. Swings and misses

Simple equation for Tallawahs now. A four from every ball. 24 needed. Rampaul has the white ball. Here we go. Last six balls.

good length wide outside off stump, the batsman backed away too much and could not connect to it off the bat's sweet spot. Pinged to mid off off the back foot

1
Wahab Riaz to Imad Wasim, 1 run

good length on middle and leg, pulled down the ground to long on for a single

Still trying to wrap my head around that wicket, the more I look at it, the more convinced I was that it was a no ball. That said, Riaz has bowled well this over.

18.4
Wahab Riaz to Imad Wasim, no run

full outside off stump, swings and misses

1
Wahab Riaz to Santokie, 1 run

good length on middle stump, the batsman backs away and bunts the ball down the ground to long off

good length on middle stump, mistimes the pull shot

Wahab Riaz to Powell, OUT

short and on middle stump, emphatically pulled and the ball's travelling! It's gonna go for a six, oh no wait, there's big KW there at the deep. He times his dive to perfection and that's taken! The batsman's on his way back but the umpire decides to go to the TV umpire for confirmation. Looks like a front-foot no ball to me, and to the commentators as well, but the TV umpire reckons he has some part of his foot behind the line. That's Out. The Tallawahs coach, Paul Nixon, looks on in disbelief. If you asked me, that was a no-ball, but it was a close one.

Rampaul to Powell, 1 leg bye

the batsman backs away while Rampaul's running in. By the time he delivers the ball, the batsman has taken his middle-stump guard. Good length on middle stump, helps the ball to fine leg

slower ball, good length on middle stump, biffed down the ground to long off, where Pollard is patrolling the boundary

Rampaul to Powell, 1 run

short on middle and it's too close to the batsman's chest to pull that convincingly. In the air once again but Rampaul can't get to the other side of the pitch to get under the ball. The batsmen race through for one

Rampaul to Imad Wasim, 1 run

bowls this from near the stumps, good length on middle, hoicked to the leg side where there's ample protection in the deep

17.2
1
Rampaul to Powell, 1 run

short just outside off stump, Powell's in two minds whether to leave or pull. He eventually gets bat to ball and it's momentarily in the air. Falls next to the non striker just in front of mid on

17.1

Rampaul to Powell, FOUR runs

full on leg stump and Powell picks that up from his toes and whips it behind square on the leg side. The drifting ball into the batsman helps him to get that elevation and direction. Rampaul's yorker did not come off well, and the margin of error is too minimal. Powell pounced onto that

Rampaul's back. 37 needed off 18.

full and very wide, the batsman is forced to reach out to give that a slog. Not a good connection and the shot is simply a top edge in the air. Whose gonna take it? Parnell, from long on, is getting under it. But it's dropped!. The batsman survives. A poor over for the fielders. How much will these make a difference?
