5.01pm Multan Sultans have won the basement battle in startling fashion in Karachi, positively sprinting through their chase to finish with more than seven overs to spare. Sultans bring their PSL 2019 to an end with a seven-wicket win, while Lahore Qalandars finish last once again. Shahid Afridi couldn't quite secure the finish a loving crowd were hoping for at the end, but he put in a vintage performance with the ball earlier with a most economical 2 for 18. A score of 140 was never going to be quite enough, but the ferocity with which the Sultans top order attacked their target was a spectacle to behold. A whopping 78 runs came from the Powerplay, the 100 was raised in the eighth over, and by the time Boom Boom got to the crease, the match was won.

Wonderful scenes in Karachi as Afridi does a circuit of the ground to bid his fans farewell in what may well be his final PSL game. He's roundly cheered all the way, and laps it up.

Mohammad Abbas is Man of the Match for his 3 for 22. And the gist, from a post-match interview with Afridi, is that we may not have seen the last of him after all. But it is time for me to go now. Thanks for tuning in everyone, and goodbye (until next time).

shahadat Awan: "Even after 23 years the intensity with which he gets cheered from the crowd is still the same. That's Sahibzada Shahid Khan Afridi for you"

Jamil Sarwar: "Good bye Sahibzada Shahid Khan Afridi from cricket but hope to see you in somewhere helping humanity socially." -- Who knows, we may not have seen the last of Afridi, though those images did suggest a farewell

Abhijato: "My Crystal Ball still wears the bandana, and now we know who it's talking about! The misty sphere and Lala are the best of friends ever since the ageless warrior taught the Ball how to spread its metaphorical arms with glory. He's the most entertaining cricketer either of us have ever seen. Cheers StarMan, and cheers Mr Brickhill!"
