Hasan Ali, Umar Amin give Qalandars a hiding

Qalandars crashed to PSL's second-lowest total batting first. From there on, the final result was never in doubt

Match Centre

An absolute hiding for Lahore Qalandars. They really need to find a quick fix to their batting. Theirs looks a side with one batsman short.

Hasan Ali is the Player of the Match. No surprises there.

Now for the story of the match:

Hasan Ali ripped through Lahore Qalandars much-vaunted top order, while fellow quick Wahab Riaz tore through the tail to dismiss the PSL's most beleaguered franchise for 78, setting up a straightforward win for Peshawar Zalmi. The total was the second lowest in the PSL's history. Lahore were also responsible for the lowest score - 59 - with that too coming against Peshawar in 2017.

In response, Umer Amin eased any nerves Peshawar might have had after Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf removed the openers in the first two overs. Timing the ball sweetly, six fours in 11 balls the space of two overs all but killed off the Lahore fightback, and for the few runs that remained, both sides were merely going through the motions. Just to please the crowd, Pollard finished the game with a monstrous six, the stamp of dominance symbolically appropriate on a day Lahore had been humbled.

Agha Salman to Pollard, SIX runs, game, set and match. Absolute long hope, Pollard rocks back and muscles this pull into the stands at deep midwicket. As easy as wins go for the Zalmis. Umar Amin has played a superb knock, among the most attractive half-centuries you will see.

Haris Rauf to Umar Amin, no run, right into the blockhole, blocked.
Haris Rauf to Umar Amin, 1 wide, short but down leg, wide called.
Haris Rauf to Umar Amin, SIX runs, dismissed from his presence. Too short, he picks the length early and wallops this deep into the stands
Haris Rauf to Pollard, 1 leg bye, advances but this full delivery angles in to hit him full on the pads. Given not out, but AB goes up immediately. Looked like impact was well in line. Let's see. More than 3m out of the crease and the ball would've grazed leg, so the on-field decision stays . They'll get a leg bye though
Haris Rauf to Umar Amin, 1 run, bunted back past the bowler for an easy single
