Wright and Bopara crush West Indies

England have comfortably had the better of West Indies throughout the season and the theme continued at Lord's

Scorecard summary
West Indies144/6(20 overs)
England145/1(14.4 overs)

Superb performance by England, winning by nine wickets. It's very rare you see England outperform their opponents so convincingly in Twenty20s, but this was a far improved effort with the bat than their sticky and mechanical performance against Scotland yesterday. Luke Wright and Ravi Bopara both excelled as openers, leaving West Indies looking rather hapless. Questions remain for them: we still don't know why Chris Gayle played, but didn't bat or captain, and all in all they've not gleaned much from this warm-up. The real matches all kick off on Friday - do join us then.

Edwards to Wright, 1 no ball
a bouncer down the leg side, and it's wided - that'll do for England

Pietersen's just shaken hands with someone, perhaps forgetting England still need a single

Edwards to Pietersen, no run
and it's a bouncer and it's very fast, and Pietersen rocks out of the way

Another man goes out for the hook. Edwards desperately wants KP here! This should be fun

14.1
Edwards to Pietersen, no run
short and very, very fast. Pietersen pulls but can't connect. 94mph.

Six to win. Edwards marks his run-up like a six-year-old trying to keep pace with his dad on a march

Chanderpaul to Bopara, OUT
got him! Bopara attempts another pull for six but holes out to deep midwicket - Chanderpaul's over the moon!
RS Bopara c Marshall b Chanderpaul 60 (35b 9x4 0x6) SR: 171.42

This is buffet bowling. I realise it's a warm-up, but quite why Chanderpaul's bowling...

Chanderpaul to Bopara, FOUR runs
four more. Down the pitch, he heaves it over the leg side with ease

The Chanderpaul experiment continues. And he pulls out of his delivery stride at the last moment...keeping Wright on his toes as much as Bopara
