Karachi Blues registered their first points of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2013-14, after their pacers shot out Bahawalpur for 77 in their second innings. That looked highly unlikely after they had conceded a 102-run first-innings lead. Driven by a 93 from Rehan Rafiq, Bahawalpur got to 258, and then bowled out Karachi Blues for 156, their bowlers sharing the wickets around. Zohaib Shera and Rajesh Ramesh, though, did the definitive damage in the second innings, taking nine between them as Bahawalpur were rolled in 23 overs. Left-arm quick Shera had also clicked in the first essay, along with Waqar Anwar, who continued his great start to his debut first-class season with a four-for. Karachi Blues needed 180 for victory, and though most of their top order couldn't stick around after getting starts, captain Naved Khan guided ensured they got home with 80. Bahawalpur have lost two in two.
