10.59 pm So in a match that takes just under four hours to complete, the Kings prevail with a ball to spare by two wickets.

Player of the Match is Johnson Charles: "It always feels good to register your first win. That feels good and we're just looking to push the momentum and get the second one tomorrow. As much as I wanted to go hard, wickets were falling so I had to stick around to build partnerships and give myself some time to launch at the end. The surface was pretty decent but we're going up against world-class bowlers. We still have to weather through the hard situations. All that noise, people cheering for you backing you up, it feels good to be back at the Daren Sammy Stadium."

That's it for tonight's live coverage of CPL 2022. Come back tomorrow for more action. I'm Peter Della Penna. Take care!

1
Reifer to Wiese, 1 run

full on leg stump, flicked out through midwicket for the winning run. Preity Zinta goes wild in the owner's box. So does the rest of the Kings squad in the dugout and the few thousand in the stands at Daren Sammy Cricket Ground. Kings get their first points of CPL 2022.

Everyone being brought into the ring except for long-on.

One needed off two balls. Basically it's run on anything from here.

Reifer to Kuggeleijn, FOUR runs

goes for wide yorker again, winds up as a knee high full toss on the wide guideline that is shoveled over extra cover on the ring and it goes well wide of the sweeper to the rope.

Reifer to Wiese, 1 wide

another wide yorker lands way outside off stump, wide called again. Wiese shuffled outside off stump, but Reifer dragged it way beyond the guideline. Fair call.

Reifer to Alzarri Joseph, OUT

fullish length on seventh stump, off the toe going to drive for a six and instead it is spooned to long-on. Simple catch at chest height 10 yards in from the rope.

Pretorius finally gets the length wrong and Joseph makes him pay! Full on fourth stump, went for yorker again but it's not full enough and Joseph wallops a drive high and deep over long-on.

Amir to Primus, OUT

well directed bouncer puts Primus on the deck falling backwards trying to get out of the way of this. But the periscope is out as he sways backward and the ball clips the toe on the way through to Lewis behind the stumps.

Amir to Wiese, FOUR runs

was this a chance?! Slower bouncer on the body, pulled straight through short fine leg for a Matador Red Cape effort that turns at worst a dot into four runs. Hard to tell if the ball carried on the fly and if it was a genuine chance or not. But it should have been stopped regardless.
