0.5 to KL Rahul, pitched up and Rahul nicks off going for a booming drive! He's been serving up inswingers but then gets this one to just hold its line, very full in the channel, big edge through to the keeper. Started to come back and then seamed away. First blood in his opening over for Anderson. 1/1
4.1 to CA Pujara, Anderson strikes again, what a start this is for England! Once again, the ball that leaves the batter very late - I think off the seam rather than in the air - after he's sent down a lot of inswingers. It's a good-length ball, and it straightens int he corridor close to off stump. Pujara feels for it, unsure which way it's going, and edges through to Buttler. Replays show it was the outswinger rather than the ball leaving him off the seam, but it went very late, after angling in initially. 4/2
10.5 to V Kohli, but he's bowling like Hadlee here. Third wicket for him, and it's that man Kohli. The benefits, once again, of bowling appreciably fuller at Headingley. Full in the corridor, moving away just a touch, and Kohli won't be pleased with the shot he's attempted. Looks to drive through mid-off, playing well in front of his body, and only manages to edge it to Buttler, who's already had a busy day behind the stumps. This straightened off the seam. Wasn't the outswinger. It seemed to come down with a scrambled seam. 21/3

25.5 to AM Rahane, Rahane is drawn into a fateful flirt, England break through with the last ball of the session! Just a thin nick, but it was audible to everyone on the field... Robinson's arm goes up, Rahane looks to the skies. Testing line as ever from Ollie Rob, angling in and holding on fifth stump - maybe wide enough to have left but still a good nut. Buttler takes his fourth catch and England walk off having enjoyed their morning greatly. 56/4
29.1 to RR Pant, got him, Pant's nervy little innings comes to a nervy little end. Back of a length, slanting away in the corridor, and Pant goes hard at it with an angled bat. His feet move late, his back foot sliding across almost after he's played the shot, and extra bounce takes the outside edge to give Buttler his fifth catch. He was looking to punch that through cover or cover point. Poor shot in the circumstances. 58/5
1022722.70493003
37.2 to RA Jadeja, that has to be lbw, hasn't it? Yup, up goes the finger. Jadeja has reviewed, but more because he can and he's the last recognised batter than from any belief that he could be not out. Or is there an inside edge? Nearly a yorker, pitching somewhere around off stump and straightening, and Jadeja closes his bat face to try and flick it away. Misses - yup, no inside edge - and he's struck on the front leg, low down near the boot... It's crashing into off stump according to Hawkeye, and that is that for Jadeja. Curran is now among the wickets too.. 67/8
37.3 to JJ Bumrah, and Curran has two in two! Bumrah follows Shami in upholding the law of averages, unlesss... He's reviewed, but I don't see how he could be not out here. Length ball, pitching in line and straightening in, and Bumrah's front pad gets in the way as he tries to bring his bat down and defend... Crashing into leg stump, and Bumrah is out first ball too!. 67/9

36.4 to RG Sharma, yikes, what a strange dismissal that is! Digs it in short, well outside off stump, and the ball sits up at shoulder height. Tries to drag a pull from that awkward region, but there's extra bounce, and even as he rolls his wrists over, he fails to control it, and all he can do is pop it softly into the hands of mid-on. I think it may have stopped on the pitch. 67/6
36.5 to Mohammed Shami, and he's gone first ball! Length ball in the corridor, straightens off the seam, and Shami fends at it, squares up, and pops it straight into the midriff of Burns at third slip. 67/7
40.4 to Mohammed Siraj, steered to first slip from outside leg! Slip-catching practice in the end, although it was a difficult one above Root's head. Siraj's method of clearing the decks and then having a swish ends up giving Overton a third, and his best figures for a Test innings. 78/10

117.2 to JE Root, bowled him! Bumrah finds a way to sneak through! Full, pitches outside off, and Root goes for the cover drive and leaves a gap between bat and pad. The ball nips back in, sneaks through that gap, and leaves the stumps in a bit of a mess. 383/6
132.2 to OE Robinson, splat! Robinson backs away and throws the bat, Bumrah hits off stump, and that will be that - no need for Jimmy to face any chin music. 432/10
2889543.3912716000
49.6 to RJ Burns, bowled him, superb delivery from Shami! Two balls after he found the outside edge with one that straightened away, he bowls the same sort of fullish length, outside off, and gets the ball to nip back in. Burns presses forward to defend, leaving a bit of a gap between bat and pad, and Shami sneaks through it to hit the top of off. More a push, aiming towards mid-on, than a proper defensive shot. 135/1
107.3 to JM Bairstow, Kohli takes a low catch to his left. Didn't have to move much but it was inches above the ground. A fuller one outside off, just hangs his bat out and gets an outside edge. Pant also dived across but it was away from him. That too could have been a distraction for Kohli but he took it so casually. 350/4
111.3 to JC Buttler, gone, Shami bags another! It's quite full on leg stump, and India did have two in front of square on the leg side - a short midwicket and a forward square leg - but they probably didn't think Buttler would flick one in the air and straight at the latter. 360/5
131.5 to C Overton, nips in and pins him on the front pad! Richard Kettleborough doesn't take too long to think about it, but Overton reviews anyway, I suspect largely because he can. Lovely line, 87mph/139kph and it beats an attempted whip to leg - hitting the top of middle, according to ball-tracking! Shami gets his fourth and this innings is almost done. 431/9
2338623.739911101
93.6 to DJ Malan, fuller down the leg side. A scrambled seam delivery. Malan goes for the flick but misses. An appeal for caught-behind but no one seems to be really interested. Except Siraj, who convinces Kohli to opt for the review. There was nothing from Pant either. But there is a spike on UltraEdge. And India has a breakthrough at the stroke of tea, in the most unlikeliest manner. 298/3
127.1 to SM Curran, and he produces the ideal bouncer from that angle, angling across the left-hander and getting it up above the left shoulder. Hard to control the pull from there, and he hits it straight down the throat of deep square leg, where Siraj's celebration buddy Mayank Agarwal is stationed as a sub fielder. 418/8
3288822.7514812100
62.6 to H Hameed, bowled 'im, top of off stump! Second one of the morning session, and Hameed will follow his opening partner back to the dressing room without going on to convert a half-century... It has been a strokeless spell for Hameed, before Jaddu gets one to grip just enough, beats the forward press and flicks off the bails. 159/2
118.4 to MM Ali, got him, England are collapsing here. Dangled up into the rough, and Moeen goes for the big hit and fails to clear mid-on. Was probably a little too close to the pitch of the ball to get the elevation he wanted. 383/7

90.6 to AM Rahane, got him, the Big Three are all gone now. Regulation stuff, but so hard to play, ball after ball. Good length in the channel, and Rahane plays from the crease, drawn into a defensive response by the initial angle into him, and it straightens off the seam and kisses the outside edge through to Buttler. 239/5
2666552.501318115
47.4 to RG Sharma, oh my dayzzzz, Rohit's missed a straight one! Full and angling in, he whips across the line to be hit on the front pad - and up goes Richard Kettleborough's finger. Rohit looks anguished and asks for a review, does seem a bit leg side on replay. But it's clipping leg stump! The tightest of margins, actually looks less out than the Rahul one that was missing leg. Umpire's call it is, though, Rohit whacks his pads in anger but will have to walk. 116/2
83.3 to CA Pujara, ooh, that's not a very good leave at all! Huge appeal for lbw, but Richard Kettleborough says not out. I think Pujara could be in trouble here. England have reviewed... It was quire full, and at first glance it seemed to be angling in and potentially headed for the stumps... Let's see... Big inward movement, off the seam, and it's taking out a big chunk of off stump according to Hawkeye. A massive wicket for England without giving away a single run this morning. It wasn't a particularly wicket-taking ball, you would think. A bit of a misjudgment from Pujara, who'd batted so well up to that point. Falls nine short of his hundred. 215/3
89.6 to V Kohli, got him, Robinson picks up his second massive wicket of the morning, Length ball, angling into the corridor, and a similar delivery missed the edge a few balls ago. Kohli is once again uncertain, has a little push at it, and it straightens with extra bounce to find the edge and carry nicely to first slip falling to his left. What a moment. 237/4
91.5 to RR Pant, gottiiiiiimmmm, snaffled at third slip! Pant's slightly frenetic stay is a short one, and he goes tamely, reaching for a wide one and steering it straight into the welcoming mitts of Craig Overton. Robinson bags his fourth of the innings - and the fourth time he's got Pant in the series. Suddenly India are staring defeat in the face once again. 239/6
95.5 to I Sharma, nicked behind, that's his five! Length ball wide of off, hits the seam and comes back, drawing a defensive prod from Ishant, and there's an audible click as it zips through to Buttler. Robinson is on again, and England are two wickets away. 257/8
18.364732.54939000
18.6 to KL Rahul, ohmygosh, that's a sensational grab! Rahul hasn't looked too settled at the crease, and he gets a good ball from Overton, angling into the corridor and straightening late with extra bounce. Defends and the ball takes the shoulder of the bat and flies quickly towards the cordon, where Bairstow dives to his left from second slip and plucks it one-handed in front of Root at first. It was going so quickly that the ball was behind Bairstow's body when he caught it. 34/1
99.1 to RA Jadeja, straightens from round the wicket and takes the edge! Jadeja won't need a Leach, because he's been plucked out by Overton. Ripper of a ball, actually, seam movement away and extra bounce, grazes the edge high up and bat and Jadeja turns for the dressing room. 278/9
99.3 to Mohammed Siraj, back of a length and fenced to slip! Siraj gets squared up and prods from the crease, taken low by Jonny Bairstow going to his right, and that's all she wrote - England win by an innings and 76 runs. 278/10
914004.44377000
1414012.85572100
94.2 to Mohammed Shami, timber! Rags one through the gate! Moeen gets it going, tossed up wide and it draws Shami into pushing away from his body, big gap for the ball to spin through, and "clunk" goes off stump. England have taken 5 for 39 so far in this morning session. 254/7
