1962 The last time a New Zealand No. 5 made a higher score in Tests in South Africa than Henry Nicholls' 76 in New Zealand's second innings. John Reid had made 142 in New Zealand's second innings of the Johannesburg Test. Nicholls' is the fourth-highest score by a New Zealand No. 5 in South Africa. This was his second Test fifty and his highest score.
