14 Sohail Khan's first-innings Test wickets since his comeback at Edgbaston in August, in just three innings. He took 5 for 96 at Edgbaston and 5 for 68 at The Oval before taking 4 for 99 in Hamilton. In his other eight innings, Sohail has only nine wickets at an average of 46.33.
2 Instances when Younis Khan has been out for single-digit scores in four consecutive innings in his Test career. The present sequence reads 0, 2, 1 and 2 after his dismissal on the second day in Hamilton. His only previous stretch of such scores was in 2002, in the two Tests against Australia in Sharjah, where he scored 5, 0, 5 and 4. Younis' average of 1.66 in this series is easily his lowest in any series.
12 The score at which Pakistan were three-down in Hamilton - the joint second lowest for them against New Zealand. The only time they lost three wickets for a lower score was 10 in Wellington in 1964-65; they were 12 for 3 in Hamilton in 1992-93 as well.
19 Tim Southee's bowling average at Seddon Park - his best at any New Zealand venue and also his best at any venue where he has played more than two Tests. By stumps on the second day, he had 29 wickets in six matches in Hamilton
54 The over in which Pakistan introduced spin for the first time in the innings. This is the first time since 2011, from when ball-by-ball information is available, that fast bowlers delivered the first 50 overs for Pakistan.
3 Number of New Zealand players to open and make 50-plus in the first two Tests of their career. Jeet Raval became the third player after Bert Sutcliffe and Bruce Murray. Raval made 55 and 36 not out in Christchurch and 55 in the first innings in this Test.
32 Highest score for BJ Watling in his previous nineTest innings since the start of South Africa tour. He had averaged 21.12 with seven scores between 15 and 35. Watling passed 2500 runs in his unbeaten knock of 49 on the second day in Hamilton, his highest in eight innings at this venue.
2 Number of top-order Pakistan players (nos. 1 to 6) to get out for a first-ball duck on Test debut - Rizwan-ur-Zaman in Perth in 1981-82 and Mohammad Rizwan in this match.
