Vidarbha win low-scorer, Bhatt six-for sinks Andhra

Delhi contrived to make a mess of a chase of 164 at Feroz Shah Kotla, as a middle-order collapse handed Vidarbha an 18-run win. Delhi looked on course for victory at 114 for 4, thanks to a half-century from Unmukt Chand. However, the dismissal of Milind Kumar in the 33rd over triggered a slide, as Delhi lost their last six wickets for just 31 runs. Six Vidarbha bowlers picked up wickets, with Umesh Yadav, Ravi Jangid, Akshay Karnewar and Akshay Wakhare sharing two apiece.

Earlier, Vidarbha suffered a batting collapse of their own, as the team failed to build on the start provided by Faiz Fazal, who stroked 83. Vidarbha were well-placed at 149 for 4, but lost six wickets for just 14 runs, as Ishant Sharma ran through the line-up on his way to collecting 5 for 21. In the end, though, Delhi's collapse proved to be more costly.

Left-arm spinner Bhargav Bhatt picked up career-best figures of 6 for 37, as Baroda overpowered Andhra by 89 runs in Delhi. Baroda, after being inserted, began on the front foot as their openers Kedar Devdhar (81) and Aditya Waghmode (76) strung together a 159-run partnership. Andhra tried to claw their way back into the game with three quick wickets, but another crucial stand - 71 for the fourth wicket between Deepak Hooda and Yusuf Pathan - helped lift the team to 291 for 6. Yusuf remained unbeaten on 46 off 36 balls, with two fours and sixes each, while Hooda scored 53 off 56 balls.

Andhra failed to really get going in their chase, as wickets at regular intervals prevented them from forging key partnerships. KV Sasikanth top-scored with a 54-ball 59, and KS Bharat and AG Pradeep chipped in with forties, but no other batsman chipped in with a handy knock, as Bhatt bowled the team out for 202 in 43.1 overs.

Shrikant Mundhe shone with bat and ball, striking a fifty and then picking up four wickets to lead Maharashtra to a 40-run win over Odisha in Delhi. Maharashtra, after being sent in, found themselves struggling at 57 for 4 before Ankit Bawne (40) and Kedar Jadhav (39) led a recovery with a 63-run partnership. Mundhe built on that platform by scoring a brisk 50, off 55 balls, to haul the team over the 200-run mark.

He soon also provided a vital breakthrough with the ball, having the opener Paresh Patel caught behind for 9. Mundhe was ably assisted by the spinner Shamshuzama Kazi, who also snared four scalps. Govinda Poddar held Odisha's innings together with an 82-ball 74, but struggled for support form his team-mates, as the side was bowled out for 177 inside 44 overs.
