Kyle Mills, the New Zealand quick bowler, will play no further part in the ODI series against Pakistan due to a groin strain. With Tim Southee and Trent Boult rested for this series, Mills' injury leaves New Zealand with a raw pace attack - Mitchell McClenaghan with 25 ODIs is the most experienced quick.
Mills, 34, suffered the injury while bowling in the nets ahead of the second ODI in Sharjah on Friday. Mills will fly home for further assessment of his injury, and it is still unclear how long he will be sidelined by it. Mills has already missed the 2007 World Cup due to a knee injury, and missed part of the 2011 campaign due to a quadricep strain.
No replacement has yet been named for Mills. The one-day series is tied 1-1 after two games, with three more over the next week.
