Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Roshen Silva in SL A squad

Batsmen Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Roshen Silva, and fast-bowling allrounder Ishan Jayaratne have confirmed their places in the Sri Lanka A squad for the first unofficial Test against England Lions, by impressing in a warm-up match against the touring side. Rajapaksa hit aggressive half-centuries in each innings of the three-dayer, while Jayaratne hit an unbeaten 50 and took two wickets in the first innings. Silva's unbeaten 46 in the second innings helped firm up his place.
Opener Pabasara Waduge could not make it to the 15-man squad, after failing in the tour match. Offspinner Tharindu Kaushal has been named, having taken a five-wicket haul in each of his last two first-class encounters.
Angelo Perera, who led the team for the warm-up game, has not been named in the 15, as he is bound for Bangladesh for the limited-overs leg of the national side's tour. Left-arm fast bowler Vishwa Fernando, who is currently in Bangladesh with the senior team, will return to Sri Lanka and join the A team squad.
Upul Tharanga is set to lead Sri Lanka A in the three unofficial Tests, which begin in Pallekele on February 12.
