Siddharth Trivedi's slow bouncers left Deccan clueless  •  Indian Premier League

Siddharth Trivedi choked Deccan's run flow with a canny spell of slow bouncers to restrict them to 137. His excellence allowed Rajasthan a couple of hiccups en route to a win.
Deccan's openers began well, putting their side for a score in excess of 150 before the first wicket fell. That brought Kumar Sangakkara to the wicket. Sangakkara had had a hectic week, losing the World Cup final, standing down as Sri Lanka captain and taking charge of the Deccan side. His stint with the new franchise got off to a poor start as he edged an effort ball from Trivedi behind for a duck. When Bharat Chipli inside-edged a heave off Trivedi across the line, Deccan were in some strife and things kept getting worse.
Daniel Christian tried to revive the situation with some late hitting, but Trivedi was not yet done for the day. He returned in his second spell to produce another slower ball, forcing Christian to hole out. That knocked the stuffing out of Deccan and forced them to settle for a sub-par score. Trivedi finished with figures of 3 for 15, and his nagging lines in the middle over set up Rajasthan's first ever victorious opening to an IPL season.
