The shot of the day
Rahul Dravid was dominant against the Chennai spinners on a track suited for them, and amid the cuts, pulls, flicks and dabs, the one shot that stood out was an inside-out drive over extra cover off Shadab Jakati. Bowling from round the wicket, Jakati angled one in with a bit of air on middle. Dravid had eyed his spot, made a bit of room and placed the ball perfectly with a beautifully-timed chip between long-off and deep cover.

A day to forget for Stuart Binny. He had nowhere to hide in front of a sizeable crowd at the Chidambaram Stadium when he fumbled a drive from Michael Hussey at mid-off to concede a boundary. Trying to make up for that lapse, he conceded four overthrows two balls later while needlessly attempting a direct hit at the non-striker's end. Shane Warne had him in his sights on both occasions, and there was more to come, as Binny shied at the keeper's end the same over and let another run through. He was given a chance to make amends with the ball, but that did not turn out too well either as he was slashed for consecutive fours by Hussey.
