West Indies have been fined for maintaining a slow over rate in the one-off Twenty20 against Pakistan which they won by seven runs on Friday. ICC match referee Jeff Crowe said the hosts were assessed to be one over behind the required rate, after time allowances were taken into consideration.
In accordance with ICC Code of Conduct regulations governing minor over-rate offences, players are fined 10% of their match fees for every over their side fails to bowl in the allotted time, with the captain fined double that amount.
As such West Indies captain Darren Sammy was fined 20% of his match fee, while the rest of the side were penalised 10% each. Sammy did not contest the penalty, so there will be no hearing.
