Drawing series massive achievement for WI - Roach

Fast bowler Kemar Roach has said he was proud he could help West Indies draw the three-Test series against Sri Lanka nil-all, which he felt was a "massive achievement" for his side.

"I put in the hard work and always tried to challenge the techniques of the Sri Lankan batsmen. The pitches here are very tough for fast bowling so I was really happy I came away with something to show," Roach, the Man of the Series for his 10 wickets, said.

Roach took his second career five-wicket haul during the second Test in Colombo and consistently hurried the batsmen with pace and bounce off the slow Sri Lankan pitches. He said that he adapted mentally and physically to his workload, being the side's main fast bowler. "Test cricket is very tough. The batsmen are very high class and know how to score runs. Fitness is also a key aspect. I know once I stay fit and strong, I will always give myself a better chance of performing."

However, he said he still has a lot to learn. "I have not played cricket in all the Test-playing nations so I'm still inexperienced when it comes to world cricket. I will continue to ask questions and try to learn as much as I can. I want to take my game to higher heights."
