Owais Shah scored a measured, unbeaten 39 to take Delhi Daredevils to what eventually turned out to be match-winning score. He made amends for the run-out of Dinesh Karthik and boosted his team at the death with some meaty hitting.
Dirk Nannes bowled fiercely and the Cobras batsmen had few answers to his pace. He uprooted Andrew Puttick's off stump in the fourth over, and then returned in his second spell to claim the wickets of Ryan Canning and Claude Henderson, both bowled. The match, by then, had decisively turned in Delhi's favour.
Henry Davids had threatened to put Cobras in front by smacking a six and a four in his innings of 22. But just like a run-out had altered the flow of the Delhi innings, Pradeep Sangwan's steaming throw from short third man found him short while he responded for a single. Cobras were reduced to 44 for 3, and never recovered.
