Leap of faith

Chandu Borde: "This was during the 1963-64 home series against MCC - a period when my bowling was at its peak. In this particular series, Salim Durani and I enjoyed bowling against the Englishmen, who struggled against spin. This picture is from the second Test, at the Brabourne Stadium. I had flighted one up to James Binks, England's wicketkeeper. He made a forward-defensive prod, and the ball took the outside edge. I was elated, as you can judge by my leap, thinking that the ball was caught by the man at slip. However my joy was to be short-lived as the fielder dived to his left and couldn't hold on to the low chance. I ended the match without a single wicket. If only I could remember who that fielder was " Photograph by Getty Images
