Makhaya Ntini has flown back to South Africa from Perth to be with his wife and children after they were involved in a car accident in the Eastern Cape.
Ntini had already been left out of the final one-day international against Australia as part of South Africa's rotation policy with the series in the bag. After he heard of the news from home he made hasty arrangements to catch a flight from Perth to Johannesburg.
While most of the South Africa squad had their families join the tour over Christmas and New Year, Ntini's stayed at home because he wasn't expected to be named in the one-day squad. However, after a successful Test series he was named in the limited-overs team, which wrapped up the series with an eight-wicket win in Adelaide.
