Where does Afghanistan's great comeback story rank?

Few gave them a chance after a disastrous start. They turned it around, and how. Was it meritorious to be part of cricket's greatest escapes? Find out

Afghanistan endured a horrid start to the World Cup Qualifiers - losing their first three games in the group stages - and had all but given up hopes of qualifying for next year's World Cup. Coming into the Super Sixes with no points in hand, thanks to Nepal's defeat of Hong Kong, they had to win each one of their games and hope for stars to align with other results favouring them to have any chance. They won their first two games, and when UAE's shock defeat of Zimbabwe left the door ajar, took the unlikely chance handed to them by defeating Ireland. By the end, Afghanistan were roaring "we are in" after qualifying to their second consecutive World Cup.
