Robin Singh wins prestigious Hong Kong coaching award; Sameer Dighe appointed Hong Kong Coach for WCL Div 3 tournament

Former Hong Kong Cricket Coach, Robin Singh, was honoured at the 2006 Hongkong Bank Foundation (HBF) Coaching Awards in a ceremony held on 13th May 2007.

Organised by the Hong Kong Coaching Committee (HKCC) and supported by the Hongkong Bank Foundation since 1993, the HBF Coaching Awards are the most prestigious Awards and the sole programme to recognise the achievements of coaches in Hong Kong.
Robin Singh won a Coaching Excellence Award in the Team Sport category for steering the Hong Kong cricket team to a silver medal at the ACC Trophy 2006.
Ghulam Saqlain received a Community Coach Recognition Award.
In related news, former Indian test and ODI player Sameer Dighe has been appointed as the Hong Kong Coach for the upcoming World Cricket League Division Three tournament in Darwin. Dighe takes over the national coaching duties from Robin Singh, who has accepted a contract to join the national coaching staff in India for India's Tour of Bangladesh which clashes with the ICC Tournament in Darwin.
Dighe, who played 6 test matches and 23 ODI matches for India, met up with the Hong Kong team during their recent tour of Chennai.
