Vermeulen makes most of relaxed bail conditions

Mark Vermeulen, the former Zimbabwe batsman under trial for arson, celebrated the relaxed bail conditions afforded to him with a hundred for Old Hararians against Uprising in a league match at the weekend.

Vermeulen was charged last year with two counts of arson after trying to torch the association's boardroom at the Harare Sports Club in late October, before burning down the pavilion at the training academy the following day.

Vermueulen made 118 at a brisk pace, from just 107 balls, as Old Hararians notched a 138-run win. Vermeulen's older brother, Roland - who has stood by him in court - also played.
