The final of the ABN Amro Cup Silver League between the Lahore Lions and the Islamabad Leopards was washed out and the two teams were declared joint winners. The 50-over match, scheduled to be played at the KRL Stadium in Rawalpindi was washed out without a single ball being bowled.
This meant that there was little to do but split the prize, and teams received Pakistan Rupees 112,5000 (US$ 20000 approx) each. Karim Ahmad, chairman of Khan Research Laboratories, who was the chief guest, also distributed individual prizes. Afaq Rahim of Islamabad Leopards, who scored 233 runs, was adjudged the best batsman, while Wahab Riaz of the Lahore Lions took the best bowler award with 11 wickets. Kashif Siddique (Lahore) and Gulraiz Sadaf (Multan Tigers) were best fielder and wicketkeeper respectively.
