Glamorgan Dragons breathed new fire into their Norwich Union title aspirations with a five-wicket win over Nottinghamshire Outlaws. It puts them back on top of Division One, just two points ahead of Worcestershire Royals. Set 227 to win at Colwyn Bay, the Dragons got home thanks initially to Ian Thomas, who made 68, and latterly to their captain Steve James, who ended unbeaten on 54.
Wicket-keeper Mark Wallace made a sprightly 37 to take the game away from the Outlaws in the final stages.
Earlier Adrian Dale was the pick of the Dragons' attack, with a restraining three for 29 off his nine overs. The Outlaws 226 was built mainly around Darren Bicknell (51) and Bilal Shafayat (48), but the total presented no real problems for the hosts, who won with two overs to spare.
