England Cricket Board chief executive Tim Lamb has pledged that it will not be another 13 years before England tour Pakistan again.
The last time England visited Pakistan was in 1987, best remembered for the Mike Gatting-Shakoor Rana controversy in Faisalabad.
But promising a much swifter return, Lamb said: "Remember, we've been to
Pakistan in that time, we've used it as a warm-up base for the Sharjah
tournament, we've been there for the World Cup, the A and Under-19 teams have
been.
"Now there is a more regular programme of international tours, never again
will it happen that England do not tour Pakistan for 13 years.
"We are a family of cricket. We are next scheduled to go to Pakistan in 2005."
