Stats - Perfect homecoming for David Warner

With 40 international centuries, he is now only behind Ricky Ponting among Australians

222 - Runs added by Joe Burns and David Warner for the opening stand - the first opening double-century stand for Australia since November 2015. Incidentally, the pair on the previous occasion was also Burns and Warner when they added 237 against New Zealand in the second innings at the Gabba. This is also the third 200-plus opening stand in 2019. Only five years have had more.
