New Zealanders hobbled to 65 for 7 on the second day of their tour match at Greenfields after a five-for from legspinner Ish Sodhi had kept Jamaica Select XI to 122 for 9.
The Jamaica Select XI pace trio of Nicholson Gordon, Christopher Powell and Derval Green troubled the visitors in the second innings. Gordon and Powell reduced New Zealanders to 22 for 4, with three of the top four batsmen making single-digit scores. Green then rattled the middle-order, dismissing Luke Ronchi, Kane Williamson and BJ Watling, to finish with 3 for 10 in four overs.
Earlier, Sodhi's strikes thwarted Jamaica Select XI after the pair of John Campbell and Kennar Lewis had put on a 58-run second-wicket stand. Their partnership helped Jamaica Select XI recover from the first-over loss of opener Horace Miller but Lewis' stumping, off Sodhi's bowling, started the slide that saw the innings end at 122 for 9.
