Bouncer is down leg, pulled fine and clears the ropes and the batters shake hands. Done and dusted we are.
Heat vs Scorchers, 33rd Match at Perth, BBL, Jan 07 2023 - Match Result
Scorchers won by 7 wickets (with 21 balls remaining)
Scorchers are now back on top of the points table and look good to go despite all the changes. Bancroft is the player of the match. Great day for him, hope it was for you too and that you enjoyed our coverage on this double-header day. See you tomorrow for the Sydney Derby fixture tomorrow. Goodbye for now from me and our scorers: M Venkat Raghav and Binoy George.
9:09pm: Absolute canter despite all the changes for Scorchers. Effortless batting, they read and reacted to the pitch with hard-to-believe levels of ease. Bancroft took on all comers, so did Hardie. Both of them were excellent with how they used the crease against the spinners, and them being decisive with their footwork helped. The tone was set with a 15-run first over but Eskinazi fell right after in a soft dismissal. Hardie joined Bancroft and there was no looking back. Neser's final over, the last he bowled, was the only time it felt like the bowlers were in the contest. Otherwise it was pure exhibition.
Tries to pull, misses. Gets hit on the body and deflects in front
Slogged over long-on, connects and clears the ad boards.
Mark: "Whats your favourite launch angle? I'm a 46.2 kinda guy. " If the bat speed his high, 46.2 would be perfect, or .3, let's end with an odd number. Flat hits seem better to me for some reason.
Another unsuccessful spell from Swepson. The batters
Full on leg, flat and fast. Patted to the gap at cover point
Length ball pitches wide and goes away further, pulled to the left of deep midwicket.
Bottom edge off the cut takes the flat, length ball darted outside off to short third. Off the bounce just behind the batter
Length on leg, swept along the ground. Quick through the outfield, four.
Defends the fullish ball
Overpitched at the stumps, tossed up too. Turner waits and lofts it high and hard, clears the straight boundary
Brilliant end to the over from Neser. He mixed up his lengths well but the earlier half means it goes for eight
Hit on the pad, going down leg. The full ball angled in, Bancroft looked to whip it across.
Fullish ball just down leg, clipped to deep fine leg
Beaten on the off side. Back to Test length goes Neser, in the channel. Turner is squared up, looks to steer it late with an open face, misses.
Down-leg wide. Length ball angled in too far. Turner looked to clip it fine, missed
Short ball doesn't rise much, goes just over the stumps. Pulled in the gap at deep-backward square
Length over leg, looks to clip it. Into the pitch in front off the sticker
Full on off, clipped to long-on
Fullish ball on leg, open-faced defence takes it to the off side
Length just outside off, clipped gently in front of square. Kuhnemann charges across to not allow two.
Full around off, opens the face and pats it gently to the right of point who has to run in front. Can't stop the single.
Full around off, pushed to cover
