87.3 to NM Lyon, through him! Shami has made an important break. It was a good length ball targeting middle. Lyon did not move forward enough to counter the ball moving back in and it takes an inside edge, gets the top flap of the pad and hits timber. 352/5 89.2 to BJ Haddin, there it is, India have ended the day on a high! Haddin was struggling around the off stump and this time the edge carries through to the keeper. Beautiful delivery, and that is what the new ball can do and then placing it in the right areas - on and around off stump with some late seam away. 354/6
23 | 1 | 136 | 2 | 5.91 | 89 | 23 | 0 | 3 | 2 | |
18.3 to SR Watson, Dhawan is on fire at second slip! Aaron finally gets one and it comes off a bit of an airy stroke from Watson. The front-foot is checked, it looks fine. This is a back of a length delivery cutting Watson for room, but he has premeditated a slice behind point and gets a nick which is well pouched by second slip moving to his left. 88/2 84.2 to MR Marsh, taken at gully and Kohli throws the ball high up in the air. Extra bounce gets rid of Marsh. Tight line just outside off to force the batsman to push and the variation that a new cherry provides takes care of the rest. India desperately needed that. 345/4
27 | 5 | 85 | 1 | 3.14 | 119 | 8 | 0 | 1 | 0 | |
7.5 to CJL Rogers, Dhawan takes it in the slips, Rogers is gone! Teasing delivery that kept going away from the left-hander who had committed to the cover drive. A healthy outside edge flies straight at second slip at hip-height and he takes it reasonably well. 50/1
33 | 1 | 143 | 2 | 4.33 | 111 | 15 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
43.2 to MJ Clarke, no mistake this time. Clarke goes for a sweep and has found square leg. Adelaide stands up to appreciate their captain. The coach pats him on the head as he walks back, his family is there as well. Looks quite weary as he walks off.. 206/2 56.2 to DA Warner, runs down the track and he's holed out at deep midwicket. Karn looks up to the sky and in celebration of his wicket. Walks away to a standing ovation as he raises his bat to them and to Phillip Hughes. Falls on his own sword as he tries to establish Australia's dominance. Wasn't quite to the pitch and the he struck the ball a little too high on the bat. 258/3 119.2 to MJ Clarke, no mistake this time. Clarke goes for a sweep and has found square leg. Adelaide stands up to appreciate their captain. The coach pats him on the head as he walks back, his family is there as well. Looks quite weary as he walks off.. 517/7

30.1 to M Vijay, 145kph, edged to the keeper! Shouldn't have stayed on the back foot there. Adelaide was trying to will Johnson on with claps and cheers and it seems to have done it. Pats his chest and looks up at the sky with his first wicket of the series. And it was a good one too. With that constant threat of his short ball keeping the batsman deep in his crease, he bowls it fuller and shapes it across to lure the nothing poke. End of a promising innings from Vijay. 111/2 94.1 to V Kohli, down the throat of deep fine leg and Johnson has picked the big wicket! It's the bouncer again, it's on middle, it came at the batsman too early and the top edge swirls to Ryan Harris who rushes in and dives forward to take it. The front-foot check looks scary, but Johnson has a couple of millimeters behind the line. 367/5
21 | 6 | 55 | 1 | 2.61 | 101 | 7 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
7.4 to S Dhawan, he's dragged it onto his stumps! It is one of his weaknesses, the itch to drive a ball on the up with a bat face that is not quite straight. His front foot was not across far enough as well and the ball cannons through onto middle stump. Good tight bowling from Harris, but was he relaxing a touch too soon?. 30/1
36 | 4 | 134 | 5 | 3.72 | 138 | 11 | 2 | 0 | 0 | |
49.3 to CA Pujara, how unfortunate! It was a tentative defence and the ball dribbled off the bat and onto the stumps. Lyon gets just rewards. He's been looping the ball and gaining some appreciable turn to create a lot of uncertainties. And that's the reason why Puj couldn't stretch as far forward as he could. The ball deflects off his back thigh after he defends and tickles the bail off its perch. 192/3 75.2 to AM Rahane, unplayable! That leaped up off a good length and Rahane, having gone back to block, is thoroughly stunned. he does not know where the ball went after taking his glove. and finally realises he is caught by slip running to his left. What a time to strike, the new ball is right around the corner. 293/4 107.5 to RG Sharma, he's caught it! What a soft dismissal! It was a loopy delivery outside off and Rohit has come down the track to try and nudge it away. But all he's managed is return the ball back into the bowler's hands. Lyon had to dive to his right off his followthrough and just about holds on. Australia badly wanted that. 399/6 113.3 to WP Saha, he's gone! Lyon keeps troubling everyone. But did it hit the bat? It was a gorgeous offspinner that brought the right-hander forward to block. The turn beats his inside edge, hits the pad and umpire Gould must think it kissed the glove on the way to first slip. I didn't see anything though.... 422/8 113.5 to I Sharma, bounce! Ishant has been done in! That's five for Lyon, and it's a beauty as well. Lovely tossed up off spinner that the batsman cannot reach on the front foot, leaps up to take the glove and land in short leg's hands. 422/9

110.2 to KV Sharma, bowled im! Kisses his black armband after landing a really full delivery that catches Karn on the crease and forces him to play across. The closed face misses, the ball crashes into middle. 406/7 116.4 to Mohammed Shami, taken at first slip! Great work by Watson there. It was a good length ball outside off and Shami, as has been his gameplan today, slogs. Gets a bottom edge that deflects to the cordon. Watson dives low to his left and pouches it. 444/10

38.5 to SR Watson, toppled him! Shami uses reverse swing to exploit the huge gap between bat and pad as Watson drives on the up. Beautiful bowling that as he hit that in-between length and lures the false shot. 140/2

12.1 to CJL Rogers, soft dismissal and Karn has got the wicket India were craving. The sweep is not Rogers' friend. He had to reach out to a flighted delivery, and shovels the ball straight to the man at midwicket. Was only looking to chip the ball, which might have been his mistake. 38/1 59.1 to DA Warner, bowled off the switch hit and Karn picks up Warner again! It was a bit too full and the drift slid the ball under the bat, through his legs and onto his stumps. End of a top class innings from one of Australia's best batsmen right now. 213/4

64.4 to MR Marsh, caught in the deep! He had run down the track, got down on his knee and slugged the ball hoping to beat long-on but holes out to the man. Adelaide sends him back with loads of claps.. 266/5
10 | 0 | 43 | 1 | 4.30 | 41 | 4 | 0 | 1 | 2 | |
45.6 to MJ Clarke, edged through to the keeper! This time the no-ball helps Aaron. It was short, it was wide, it was asking to be cut away but Clarke's only managed to feather it through to Saha.. 168/3 |

4.1 to S Dhawan, good bouncer, and it seems to have got the glove. Umpire Gould thinks so. But it has come off the shoulder! It was a brilliantly directed delivery, but Dhawan tried at the last minute to pull out from playing as he was swiveling on the back foot. It deflects off his right bicep and shoulder and balloons to the keeper. Haddin only half went up and the umpire said okay and Johnson roars, he's well and truly back. 16/1 86.1 to VR Aaron, 140kph, perfect ball first up and he's plumb in front! It was full, it curled in and Aaron is stuck in the crease and struck on the back pad. Off goes Aaron, Mitch has a huge smile on his face as he gambols around with his team-mates. 314/9
19 | 6 | 49 | 1 | 2.57 | 90 | 5 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
84.2 to Mohammed Shami, full on off stump, Shami looks to hammer it down the ground and he's been caught at mid-off. What a poor choice of shot. Terrible dismissal as he falls into the trap. Harris bowls full to entice the drive and out it comes and the ball spoons to Johnson. 309/8

19.2 to CA Pujara, edged and taken! Lyno's on fire here. Just missed the rough outside off, Pujara overestimated the turn and plays a touch inside the line. Can't blame him with the help that's on offer. Takes the faintest of nicks to Haddin, who does well behind the stumps. So just like Warnie said a couple of balls earlier, Lyon strikes. 57/2 69.1 to M Vijay, out on 99! Lyon has struck! Vijay does not want to walk, he had jumped back to try and flick the ball away for his hundred. He missed the ball, he's right in front of all three stumps. Nervous nineties does him in. Kohli goes across to his partner and taps him on the head. It's been a terrific innings from Vijay. One of the openers had to come good and he did. First lbw of the match, by the way. 242/3 69.6 to AM Rahane, inside edge to short leg says the umpire, Lyono is turning things around! Beautiful off spin bowling as he flights the ball outside off, hits the rough and Rahane was stretching out to try and block. But oopsy, it's only lobbed off the pad. No bat involved!. 242/4 77.4 to RG Sharma, caught at leg slip! Went straight off the glove and Warner had to leap up and stick his left hand over his head to hold on! Lovely bowling from Lyon as he loops the ball above Rohit's eyeline to draw him forward, got it to dip into the rough and the turn and bounce did the rest. 277/5 79.6 to WP Saha, one shot too many! and Lyon has broken through for his second five-wicket haul of the Test! His first ten-for! Runs at the bowler again and swings all around the good length off spinner which sneaks through bat and pad and timber!. 299/6 81.4 to V Kohli, caught at deep midwicket! Kohli's gone! Australia mob Marsh on the boundary and Kohli is hunched over his bat at the crease for several seconds before he drags himself off. What an innings it has been. One of the best counterpunches that's been seen in a long time, but it ends off a miscue. It was short, it was asking to be hit and Kohli went for a pull to clear the boundary but found the man there. Adelaide gives him a standing ovation and he deserves every clap!. 304/7 87.1 to I Sharma, stumped! Lyon has done it for Australia! Ishant has run down the track, but is beaten by the turn and is stumped down the leg side. Australia huddle up by the '408' at the ground and warm hugs are shared between them. Lyon taps the turf by the number in earnest. 315/10
