Ashton Turner announced himself on the world stage when he made 84 not out from 43 balls in his second ODI to help Australia chase a record 359 in Mohali against India in 2019. The tall, powerful right-hander, who mixes clearing the rope with deft placement and brilliant running between the wickets, has made a habit of chasing unlikely totals as a middle order specialist in the BBL for the Perth Scorchers. Rajasthan Royals bought him for the 2019 IPL on the back of those performances. He has also shown his leadership qualities standing in as captain for the Scorchers and Western Australia.
