Riley Meredith

Riley Meredith is a genuinely fast bowler, capable of pushing the speed gun towards 150kph, and his bouncer has ruffled numerous domestic batters. As with many other quicks, his trade injuries have been a challenge but there remains time for him to add to his seven international caps.

Meredith's most eye-catching performances have come in T20. His best BBL season to date came in 2022-23 with 21 wickets in 14 matches while he was a key part of Hobart Hurricanes' maiden title in 2024-25, claiming 3 for 27 in the final.

He has featured in leagues around the world, including three seasons at the IPL between 2021 and 2023 (one for Punjab Kings and two for Mumbai Indians) and in 2025 was the leading wicket-taker in the group stage of the T20 Blast with 27 wickets at 15.4 for Somerset.

He was first selected for Australia as part of the white-ball squads for the tour of England in 2020 during Covid. His debut came the following year against New Zealand and he was also part of the white-ball side in the West Indies. He briefly returned to the fray against Scotland in 2024 before a side injury curtailed his tour.

Encouragingly for Meredith, he was able to play six Sheffield Shield matches during the 2024-25 season, his highest tally in six summers.
