South Australia 6 for 216 (Klinger 86, Butterworth 3-36) v Tasmania 361 (Faulkner 77, Bailey 69, George 4-112)

Luke Butterworth's three top order wickets put Tasmania in control of South Australia's batting after James Faulkner had helped lift the Tigers' first innings to 361 on day two of the Sheffield Shield match in Hobart.

The Redbacks were 6 for 216 at the close, Michael Klinger's 86 the only score of any great substance in the visitors' reply.

Resuming at 5 for 210, Tasmania's lower order forged a series of handy partnerships to raise the tally to decent dimensions on a pitch still offering some movement to the pacemen.

SA's response began smoothly before Daniel Harris was bowled by the first-change bowler and debutant Jackson Bird. Butterworth then nipped out Callum Ferguson, Tom Cooper and Klinger to unsteady the innings.

Ben Hilfenhaus chimed in with the wickets of Ben Dougall and Dan Christian, leaving Tasmania in with a chance of claiming outright points.
