Profile

One of the few spinners contracted to Western Province for the 1997/98 season, MacHelm has a heavy load to shoulder in the absence of international Paul Adams. MacHelm has not been a proven wicket-taker in the four day game, but with Paul Adams likely to be doing duty for South Africa and David Rundle retiring, there is an opportunity for him to cement a place in the side with a few helpful performances.
