For 15 years Peter Parker was one of Australia's top few umpires, although he never quite took the next step to the ICC's elite panel. A solidly-built man who had played in the lower grades of Brisbane's club competition, Parker stood in his maiden first-class match in 1986-87. Although Parker held the unwanted distinction of having called an over that contained 11 legal balls during a domestic one-day match in 1995-96, he remained one of Australia's leading officials and stood in several Sheffield Shield and Pura Cup finals. A member of Australia's international panel, Parker officiated in ten Tests and 65 ODIs during an international career that spanned 15 years, before he retired to focus on his career away from the game.
