India v Bangladesh Test series
Bangladesh played their first ever Test against India, a one-off in Dhaka in 2000. Despite going down by nine wickets, the hosts put up a creditable performance, underlined by Aminul Islam's memorable 145 in the first innings. Since then, India have visited Bangladesh twice for Test matches. The 2004 tour resulted in innings victories for the visitors in both the Test matches. Bangladesh held on for a draw in the opening match of the 2007 tour, but went down by an innings in the second. Both teams have come a long way since that tour. Habibul Bashar, who led Bangladesh in the 2007 series, has been replaced by Mashrafe Mortaza (and now Shakib Al-Hasan). For India MS Dhoni is comfortable in the saddle though Rahul Dravid, who captained on that tour, is still the batting mainstay.
