Thilak Naidu, a hard-hitting wicketkeeper batsman, played first-class cricket for Karnataka between 1998-99 and 2009-10. Naidu was not a natural wicketkeeper, although he had 220 catches and 18 stumpings after 93 first-class matches. However, Naidu was a powerful batsman - he scored 4386 first-class runs with eight centuries and 24 fifties.
He played his last first-class match in the 2009 Ranji season, after which he was replaced by Muralidharen Gautam in the Karnataka team. He continued to play in the Karnataka Premier League, the state-level twenty20 tournament. Naidu announced his retirement from all forms of cricket in 2012.
