A lawyer by profession, Jack Clarke joined the Cricket Australia board in 1999 and was the board chairman from October 2008 until 2011. He presided at a time when Australia struggled on the field and he was in charge when the Argus report into Australia's on-field performance was commissioned, as well as the Crawford-Carter report into Cricket Australia's governance.
