Auckland Aces v Delhi Daredevils Match abandoned without a ball bowled

Rain seems to be following the IPL sides wherever they go. A third successive evening game in the Champions League Twenty20 was washed out today, in Durban. While some play had been possible in the previous no-results, even the toss could not take place at Kingsmead as a persistent, but not heavy, drizzle set in. It was Delhi Daredevils' turn to be satisfied with two points, after Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians on the previous two evenings.

While the rain had knocked Knight Riders out, and left Mumbai Indians hoping for a Yorkshire win against Lions, it did not impact Daredevils' chances as much. They were still placed second on the points table, behind Titans, and ahead on net run-rate of Auckland Aces, who also pocketed two points.

This DOESN"T look good. Rain are predicted for the South African coast till Wednesday or Thursday. We will be lucky if a few games could be completed. This year it is WET El Nino year. Next year will be the Dry El Nino year, but then the tournament will be played in the wet sub-continent. It's time that South Africa gets themselves a stadium with a roof.

To be honest I am happy that rain is following the ipl sides, I dont believe that they should be in this league. Their overseas quota is larger than the other sides. Even though it hasnt shown up yet, it detracts from the games.

@maddy with 4 ipl team if the not win even this one too.then shame on them.they have the best player around the world.four out of 10 is some thing big for a tournament.i back them for another win you are?

Today's first game might very well see Lions go through to semis and the other three teams including the two from IPL might get knocked out. Can't imagine how Yorkshire would win against a team which will play on their home turf. Most likely outcome is bye bye Yorkshire, MI, and CSK.

Auckland will be relying on DD losses against the Scorchers and Titans. Though its unlikely for DD to lose to the Scorchers.

From Group A I think DD and Titans and DD will make it to semis, DD need to only one game out of two so they will 10 points, and healthy run rate. though Auckland and perth won their remaining two matches they also be at point 10 which is not possible

This is now 3 games in 3 abandoned in the CLT20 2012! Also, the Uva Trinidad match was also washed out without a result due to rain. If this happened in Sri Lanka, fans worldwide will say Sri Lanka is the worse place to have a tournament. Any thought on South Africa getting this. Please dont single out Sri Lanka in terms of weather. I am making a kind request here. Look at Sri Lanka's home series this year. Hosted England for 2 tests and no rain interruptions. Pakistan came and only 2 ODIs were rain hit (1 no result other DL based) and 1 out of 3 tests were rain hit. India came in July and all 5 ODIs and T20 went hassle free. SLPL had 7 games rain hit I agree. Then the world T20 was perfectly fine (2 were DL declared and only 1 was no result). Compare the last T20 in West Indies where 3 games were DL declared and one was no result.
