Kings XI Punjab seamer Sandeep Sharma has been ruled out of the Champions League T20 in India in September-October due to injury. Sandeep is likely to be out of action till December, which means that he could also miss the early part of the domestic season.
"Sandeep Sharma is one of the players who will be absent in the CLT20 due to an injury," Kings XI's chief operations officer Fraser Castellino told PTI. "Otherwise, all the other players are fit and available. Our coaching staff is keeping a tab on the fitness and availability of the players."
Sandeep was originally named in India A's squad for the four-day matches in their ongoing tour of Australia, but had to pull out due to injury. Sandeep impressed in the IPL this season with his prodigious swing, particularly in the UAE leg of the tournament. He finished as Kings XI's leading wicket-taker with 18 wickets in 11 matches.
Kings XI finished runners-up to Kolkata Knight Riders and this will be their first appearance at the Champions League T20.
