Parvez Hossain Emon

One of the many Under-19 World Cup winners from 2020 fast-tracked into the senior Bangladesh sides, Parvez Hossain Emon was handed a T20I debut in 2022, however, it took him a while to secure a regular place in the team.

A power-packed 5ft 9in left-hander, Parvez loves to drive the ball on the up and has a knack for hitting straight sixes.

Born in Chattogram, Parvez impressed his elder brother enough in neighbourhood taped-tennis matches to prompt his family to enroll him to BKSP, Bangladesh's leading sports institute.

He started playing U-19 cricket for Bangladesh in 2018 and was the side's top scorer with 47 in their epic win in the 2020 U-19 World Cup final against India in Potchefstroom.

In December that year, he made headlines when he hit a 42-ball hundred for Fortune Barishal, then the fastest T20 century by a Bangladesh batter.

Four and a half years later, he made a T20I hundred, against UAE, which was Bangladesh's only second in the format. His nine sixes in the innings was also a national record, going past Rishad Hossain's seven sixes from 2024. In his second ODI, against Sri Lanka in July 2025, Parvez scored a match-winning half-century in Colombo.

His opening partnership with Tanzid Hasan, a fellow U-19 World Cup winner, will be crucial to Bangladesh's fortunes in the 2026 T20 World Cup and ahead.
