Gareth Edwards is Robert Croft`s understudy as Glamorgan`s off- spinner, and the North Walian has already represented England U19 on their tour to Zimbabwe in 1995/96. His selection followed a successful season in the Second Eleven Championship which includ- ed a career best 7-29 against Notts Seconds. The London Universi- ty student was injured during 1996, but he has made a full recov- ery, and with Robert Croft likely to be on England duty, Ed- wards could get an extended run in the Welsh county`s 1st team during 1997.
