Profile

Paul Farbrace had a brief first-class career as a wicketkeeper with Kent and then Middlesex and Kent, a very sound gloveman but not good enough with the bat at a time the game was moving towards batsmen who could keep. He only played one full season, in 1991, when he held 46 catches and made eight stumpings. After finishing with Middlesex he moved into coaching, initially with the England women's team and then the Under-19s before returning to Kent. In July 2007 he was appointed Trevor Bayliss' assistant as Sri Lanka coach.
