Profile

Michael Melluish was a wicketkeeper and lower-order batsman - although he had batted higher up at school - who was a regular in the Cambridge side throughout his three years at university. A useful keeper but poor batsman, he played once for Middlesex in the year after he come down but thereafter only made a few appearances for MCC, Gentlemen and DR Jardine's XI. He latterly became treasurer of the MCC and was awarded an OBE in 1999 for his services to cricket.
