Rex Neame was an offspinner and middle-order batsman who played occasionally as an amateur for Kent when business duties at the family brewery - Sheppard Neame - allowed. In the 1955 match against Eton at Lord's, Neame took a hat-trick, the third victim being Henry Blofeld who gave him the charge, unaware that the bowler had two in two. He took over managing Sheppard Neame's farms in 1959 and moved to Bulmers in 1966.
