Francis Wilson made one first-class appearance, for Minor Counties v Oxford University in 1939. He took one wicket but was injured in the match and did not bat, his place being taken by a substitute, David Watson, who made two appearances that summer for the university. This was the last instance of that happening for more than 60 years.
