Malcolm White was a specialist wicketkeeper with little ability as a batsman who would have won his Blue at Cambridge were it not for his time there coinciding with World War Two when cricket was all but suspended and no first-class matches played. Nevertheless, he played against Oxford University in 1943 and 1944, and in the latter year was the university's secretary. In 1946 he played once for Warwickshire, making a pair.
