Profile

Rachel Priest is a promising wicketkeeper-batsman who has come through the ranks at Central Districts. In January 2007 she was named in the New Zealand A squad for the first time and an impressive 36 off 34 balls in her first game helped with her promotion to the full squad for the tours of Australia and England later in the year. Although good enough to bat in the top six, she has tended to bat down the order in the last couple of seasons, utilising her ability to score quick runs late in the game. She is a very technically correct wicketkeeper who, at just 22, could be part of the New Zealand set-up for some time. Alan Curr June 2007
