Profile

Marc Ellison's career highlight to date was leading New Zealand Under-19 to the World Cup in Sri Lanka in 2006. However his performances were disappointing where he couldn't match his strong domestic U-19 form, scoring 85 runs in six innings as his team lost the Plate Final to Nepal. During his time at the University of Otago, he played for Carisbrook, Dunedin and the Otago 2nd XI without impressing enough to get a chance in the first-class arena. Ellison spent a season playing club cricket in South Australia for Glenelg where he helped his side to victory in the XXXX Gold One Day competition with 61 off 48 balls against Cameron Borgas' led Sturt in the semi-final and 55 in the Grand Final under lights at the Adelaide Oval against Kensington. He ventured to the UK in 2009 to play club cricket for Radcliffe on Trent in the South Nottinghamshire Division A. Scoring 571 at a tick over 40 helped Radcliffe win the league and gain promotion to the Notts Premier League for 2010. He's currently playing in Wellington for Karori and in the wider squad for Wellington 2nd XI. A freelance journalist by trade he has written feature articles for Cricinfo and fills in with commentary and live scoring for New Zealand internationals.
